Schattenbaum is one of the Porsche Club of America (PCA) regions in Zone 1, serving central and southern New Jersey. With over 500 members, our region spans the Princeton area south through the Delaware Valley.
The region was formed in 1973 by members of a race team who all owned Porsches. High on enthusiasm but low on funds, the team called itself “Shade Tree Racing”. The region adopted the name, translated into German as Schattenbaum.
What We Do
Our calendar includes the following types of events:
- Driver Education — track days focused on skill development
- Club Races — the annual Schattenbaum Showdown for licensed PCA racers
- Tours — curated drives through scenic backroads of New Jersey and Pennsylvania
- Concours — judged car shows evaluating preparation and presentation
- Social Events — dinners and other gatherings
- Monthly Meetings — featuring technical presentations, member stories, and more; check the calendar for the next one
