we’re looking for one or two locally based charities where our donation can make a real difference…
Our region has, for many years, made charitable donations to a variety of organizations supporting those less fortunate. This year we would like to select two charities that operate within our region (Mercer, Burlington, Camden, Gloucester, Salem or Cumberland Counties.) We would like to find one northern and one southern based charity and potentially establish a long term relationship with these organizations.
Our basic criterion is that we are looking for charities that will focus our donations within our geographic region. We welcome suggestions from the membership for appropriate charities. The Board will review all nominations and make a decision at the March Board meeting.
If you have a charitable organization you would like to nominate, please send an email to secretary@schattenbaum.org Provide a link to the charity’s web site if available, and a short message telling us why we should support this organization. Please submit your suggestion by February 28, 2009.
The donations in 2008 were $1000 and $1500 to two organizations, and we hope to provide this amount or more in 2009.
